Title IX Policy Community Notice

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." - Preamble to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

As a Catholic institution sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and the Conference for Mercy Higher Education, ÃÛÌÒAPP affirms the basic human dignity of all persons, including the right to be free from harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex or gender. In support of this fundamental belief, and in accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the University prohibits discrimination in all educational programs and activities on the basis of sex or gender.

Programs and activities protected under Title IX include academic programs, admissions, athletics, financial aid, housing, career services, counseling and health services, student activities, and employment. Sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking are forms of sex discrimination, which are prohibited under Title IX and by ÃÛÌÒAPP policy.

Any member of the campus community, guest, or visitor who acts to deny, deprive, or limit the educational, employment, residential or social access, or opportunities and/or benefits of any member of the ÃÛÌÒAPP community on the basis of sex or gender is in violation of the University's Sexual Misconduct and Harassment Policy.

ÃÛÌÒAPP complies with current Federal Title IX regulations and associated policies and procedures. Please see the University's Sexual Misconduct and Harassment Policy for additional information.
