Message from the President

Dr. Laurie Joyner

We have so much to celebrate at Saint Xavier. Our community has shown great resolve to overcome the operational impact of COVID-19, and we continue to carry out our Mercy mission of serving students to help them discover their calling in life and provide them with the skills they need for meaningful lives and successful careers after graduation.

Our campus community is made up of dynamic and innovative individuals who go the extra mile to make valuable contributions that benefit the broader world. We are intentional, compassionate and steadfast. As you will see in the stories below, our dedication makes a difference.

We remain the most affordable Catholic institution in Illinois, and this year, we welcomed the largest incoming first-year class in Saint Xavier's history. We will continue to pursue excellence in all that we do -- keeping the health, safety and futures of our incredible students at the forefront.

As we prepare to celebrate Homecoming in new and exciting ways this special year, I am reminded of the adage "home is where the heart is." It is the heart of our Mercy mission that keeps calling to new generations of students and keeps our alumni connected. We are blessed to be part of this community, and I welcome you to join us as we build on this momentum to establish Saint Xavier as Chicago's impactful Catholic, Mercy institution for another 175 years.

Sincerely,

Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D.
President
