Message from the President
|
Happy holidays from the Saint Xavier community!
This joyous time of year allows us to count our blessings and take stock of the remarkable
opportunities presented to us. Saint Xavier is a university on the rise, and we end
the year with a growing list of accolades for our high-quality academic programs and
expanding student support services.
Saint Xavier is one of only 43 institutions of higher education and the only university
in Illinois to receive a Title V Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions grant (P031S190311)
from the U.S. Department of Education in 2019. We are utilizing the $3 million award
on initiatives to engage students, enhance student learning and improve graduation
and retention rates during the next five years.
We are also celebrating some impressive milestones with the Sister Mary Antonine Ludden,
R.S.M. Speech and Language Clinic at ÃÛÌÒAPP marking its 60th anniversary
this year, and the School of Nursing and Health Sciences commemorating 85 years of
excellence in academic instruction and clinical practice in 2020.
I am grateful for the students, faculty, staff and alumni that help to advance our
inspiring mission and accomplish our collective aspirations. I look forward to the
wonderful things to come in the new year!
Warm Regards,
Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D. President
